"I sow, I plant, I fertilize my flowerbeds, I make borders, I drive in stakes, I rebuild walls, I bring in light soil from half a league away. I'm in clogs all day and only come home for dinner… "
Correspondence of George Sand by Georges Lubin, volume 6, letter no. 2734, to Eugène Delacroix
The house, garden and "little wood" of George Sand is a place with a richness I have rarely seen visiting a place. It was clearly like a family member to her after the loss of her parents. A truly special place.
Oil on primed Archer's Oil Paper, 9" x 12" painting, matted in 12" x 16" gold plated frame.
About The Postcards Collection
I've always loved postcards and the idea of sharing a small window of your experience with someone far way. I thought it would be fun to create little postcards for myself of the special places in my life to remember something personal about the place, not necessarily recognizable like a landmark but something truly unique to my experience that I always want to remember or that I want to share with my friends, family and collectors.
